What kind of game is Gates of Olympus?

A 6x5 grid in an Ancient Greek mythology setting holds nine symbols. Eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid form a win, so they do not need to sit on a payline. Each winning symbol vanishes, the rest fall down and new symbols drop in from above. This tumble repeats until no further win appears. The symbols are the Crown, Hourglass, Ring, Chalice and five gems.

Four Scatter symbols anywhere on the grid start 15 Free Spins. During those spins a Total Multiplier counter keeps building: each Multiplier orb landing on a winning tumble step adds its random value, and every win is multiplied by the current total. Three or more Scatter symbols add five more spins without resetting that total. Special reels bring in extra Scatter symbols.

What the extra features cost

100 times the bet is the price of Buy Free Spins, so the table shows the money cost at the top example bet.

Gates of Olympus guide

Your first spin, from stake to payout

Read this before the first spin, when the stake and the free spin rules are still open.

  1. Stake range from A$0.20

A$0.20 is the lowest bet and A$125 the highest, so each round starts from a stake set anywhere in that range. The paytable uses A$0.40 as its bet.

  2. Count matching symbols on the grid

8 matching symbols anywhere on the 6x5 grid trigger a payout. Winning symbols disappear, the rest fall, and new symbols drop from above until no win remains.

  3. Follow the tumble to the end

6x5 grid runs the base game through Tumble, Scatter and Multiplier Orbs. Wins repeat until none remain, and orbs landing on a winning step multiply that step's total.

  4. How many symbols start free spins?

4 or more Scatter symbols anywhere on the grid start 15 free spins. During them, 3 or more Scatter add 5 spins, and the TOTAL MULTIPLIER keeps its value.

  5. When should play stop?

1 limit, chosen before the first spin, marks where play ends. No round or free spin result can be known in advance.

Inside the spins

What the free spins bring with 4 scatters

Two rounds are covered here, so you know what a paid spin and a free spins round each do.

What starts 15 free spins?

Four or more Scatter symbols anywhere start 15 free spins. A TOTAL MULTIPLIER counter runs through all of them, growing with every orb that lands on a winning tumble step. Each win is multiplied by the counter, 3+ Scatters add 5 more spins, and the counter carries over.

Paying roundOne growing multiplier

Watch the symbols drop and refill

Every paid spin lands symbols across the 6x5 grid, where any 8 matching symbols pay wherever they sit. Winning symbols vanish and others drop in until no win remains. Orbs on a winning tumble step are summed, and that sum multiplies the win.

Read the game rules before the first spin

96.50 per cent is the RTP of this version, and it describes a very long run, not a single session. It says nothing about how often the bonus round comes, which is not known in advance. Each spin is random, so one session can bring no free spins or many, whatever the RTP.

96.50 is the only RTP listed for this game on this page. The RTP version that runs in a given session is shown only in the game rules. Read those rules before the first spin, so you know which figure applies to the round you open.

5,000 times the bet is the maximum win of this slot, a ceiling that is reached very rarely. It marks the top of what the game can pay on one bet, not a result to expect. Whether a session comes near it cannot be known before the first spin.

Four answers

Gates of Olympus questions before you stake

Clears up what a single spin can return, and what no one can promise in advance.

How do the Gates of Olympus free spins start?

Four Scatter symbols landing anywhere on the six reels open 15 free spins. Inside them the TOTAL MULTIPLIER keeps counting up and never resets. Three or more Scatter adds 5 more spins.

Can I buy the Gates of Olympus free spins?

Yes, the free spins can be bought outright for 100 times your bet, so A$1,000 at a A$10 stake. Ante Bet raises the stake by a quarter to load more Scatter symbols. The result of either purchase is not known beforehand.

Is Gates of Olympus a high volatility slot?

The game is built at high volatility, so long quiet stretches are ordinary. Payouts cluster around the Tumble cascades and the multiplier orbs. The base game can return little across many spins; a single round can pay large.

What RTP does Gates of Olympus run at?

The return sits at 96.50 per cent, which leaves A$3.50 of every A$100 staked with the house over the long run. Later games in the series carry their own figures; this version keeps 96.50.

Fun first, stake second

This site is for players aged 18 and over. If play stops being fun, the National Gambling Helpline is on 1800 858 858 and BetStop holds the national self-exclusion register.

Budget first, spin second

Decide the amount you can lose before the first spin and treat it as spent. High volatility means that amount can go quickly.

Name your stopping point

Pick a win figure and a loss figure in advance, and leave when either is reached. A large cascade is not a signal to keep going.

Gates of Olympus at a fixed weekly cap

Set a deposit limit and a loss limit in your account before you play. Both hold a ceiling you cannot lift in the middle of a session.

Should I take a break?

Take a pause from the account when the game feels like a duty rather than a choice. Self-exclusion through BetStop is there if a pause is not enough.
